Lamezia Terme is one of the most important commercial centres of Calabria. This fertile region produces wine, strawberries, olives, aubergines, wheat and beets. The town grew out of three neighbouring villages - Nicastro, Sambiase, and Sant'Eufemia.

Not to be missed are the old Greek and Roman artefacts in the archaeological museum, such as the famous Bronzi di Riace - two huge statues of Greek warriors dating from the 5th century B.C. Sambiase is famous for its thermal baths at the spa of Caronte. A visit to the cathedral where Isabel of Aragon is buried, and the medieval churches of San Domenico and San Francesco. In the south of the area you will find Tropea - the coastal strip of Calabria, which is often referred to as the capital of relaxation because of its white beaches and crystal clear water.

The airport at Lamezia Terme can be reached by car within a 15-20 minute drive from Residencial La Brezza.
